This is another story about one of my favorite patients, my mother. She required heart surgery, so the night before surgery, I walked into her room. I was nervous and upset because I knew what the possible complications were. I asked my mom if she was worried or afraid and she said, “No, I’m not any of those things.”

When I asked her why, she said, “You ought not to be because God has good credit with me. When I look back over my life, 30 years ago when your dad died, God said He would take care of us and He did. 25 years ago, when I had a brain tumor, He said He’d take of me, and He did. 20 years ago, when you and your sister had to go to college and we didn’t have the money, He said He’d take care of us, and He did! So I’m not worried about tomorrow because God has good credit with me.”

I know you’ve been waiting on God to fulfill His promise, but don’t get weary in well-doing, and don’t give up on His goodness. Because if you look back on your life, there’s never been a bill He couldn’t pay, there’s never been a problem He couldn’t solve, there’s never been a situation He couldn’t get you out of. I dare you to lean in on Him, trust Him, and know He has good credit.

He has good credit with me and I know he has good credit with you.
